Oh, (big) brother. How low I’ve come. I started watching Big Brother for the first time ever along with the new season that just started. I remember a time when I thought to myself that “I’d never go that low”. But according to my calculations; with these kinds of things, I’m wrong about 98% of the time. So, here we are. The Akira impact

So, I finally saw Akira . I've known its existence for over a decade but never really had the moment of "now I'll sit my ass down and educate myself by watching Akira". Gladly my friend took me by the hand (who is a huge Akira fan), made me sit down and watch it with her. And damn, I wasn't disappointed. I have a soft spot for old anime anyways, so this was a nice treat. I could go on and on how effective the visuals and the colors were combined with the sound design, but I could just put it simply and say that it was an inspirational film experience in all its rawness. And most importantly, I finally saw the original bike slide scene in its context which is referenced in many, many other series and movies. And since I got a "bit" interested in the subject, here are some thoughts of mine and stuff I came across while I was looking more into Akira. Temptation Island Finland season 8 thoughts

Along with Big Brother, I also followed the 8th season of Temptation Island Finland (Suomi). I guess that was enough of reality for rest of the year, thank you very much. I was pulled into the show at season 4, and since then I have watched all the seasons and episodes. And I gotta say that this latest one was really underwhelming season. Could be because the kind of "Temptation Island magic" was gone because this season the location was in Finland due to COVID-19. It could be that the budget was clearly a lot smaller than before (I mean... on one of the dates they took the people into the woods to make cone cows. Yes, I didn't make that up). Or then just that the couples were really boring. And that the only couple who have drama like an explosive volcano are both very annoying and extremely unlikeable. But my guess it's the combination of all those. Not the very best time to shoot reality show like this in a location, where summer is full of rain and you can't ...
